(Written originally just prior to the release of the Kerail Preceptors) With the new Tohaa Preceptor and Symbio-Beasts being released imminently, I went to write the first list that I would try them out with, keeping half an eye on standard ITS requirements.
The Preceptor went into the list first, using the 2 Surda option (given that this unit is the reason for the list, it was a good place to start!). I think CC is where this unit will shine the best, and two Beasts gives me multiple redundancies! After that, I added the Kaeltar for the Symbio-Bombs. I contemplated adding the CoC version as well for the Symbio-Mates, but decided against this as I was thinking of using a backfield Lt instead of a frontline fighter. At this stage, I wasn’t sure what I would be putting the other Symbio-Bomb on, but decided quickly that if I wanted the option of MSV/Smoke shenanigans, the Gao-Rael would be a necessity which tied in nicely with having a Kamael Lt as part of his link. I opted for the Sniper variant for the long range and armour cracking potential it added to my list. Having a second Kamael sniper as the final Triad member means that taking out the Gao-Rael is just that much harder, as long as I can deploy them with overlapping fields of fire.
Including the Igao and Clipsos next was mainly because I had not featured them in some of my more recent lists and have found that I missed the mind games and up-board presence that they offered. This is also my first specialist in the list with the FO option on the Clipsos. Including the Rasail gives the list some ambiguity in possible Lt options, and is a phenomenal workhorse of a unit himself. With 2 remaining orders in the first combat group I went for the safe and cheap options of the Chaksa Auxiliars. It is hard to ignore these guys as list staples.
Looking at the remaining points, I figured I could squeeze in a second Triad, and realised that I was not hitting my ITS mission targets in only having 1 specialist so far. Because of this, this Triad almost built itself – Aelis Keesan for the Defensive Hacking Device and K1 Combi Rifle (not to mention general all-around specialist, and Sensor can be great with Triangulated Fire), the Kumotail to cover both my Doctor and Engineer roles, and finally a Makaul to help get them where they are going, and keep them safe. This left 3 points for a Chaksa Servant with the idea being that it can be parked, prone, next to the Kamaels and Gao-Rael. Given the uncertainty around the combination of G: Servant and Fireteams, these points are probably better spent on something else, so I upgraded the Makaul to include Swarm Grenades too.
All that was left was to move the second Triad into the main combat group, given them the option of more orders, and moving the more static support elements to the second group.
The final list looks like:

Given the open/private information nature of Infinity, I will probably not post this until after I have had a chance to try it out at least once. Once it is posted though, leave your comments below with your thoughts 🙂
